How did you know you wanted to get into tech? The pandemic made realize I needed to pivot away from the industry I was in at the time (healthcare/laboratory)

How were you able to transition into the tech space? Joined Talent Stacker, earned Salesforce Certifications

Were you supported by your family to get into tech? Yes.

Do you feel represented in tech? Could definitely be improved (there is only a handful Filipinos that I know of in the company currently)

Do you feel supported by the Filipinos in tech community? Yes.

What advice do you have for other Filipinos in tech that are having issues growing and obtaining promotions at their company? Be your own advocate, volunteer to take on tasks that are challenging, do the best job possible, obtain professional certifications in different platforms.

What advice do you have for other Filipinos that are interested in transitioning into tech? Take stalk of what you really like and what you don’t like about your job. If you find that it’s worth it to make the transition, be committed to take action towards it. Learn the necessary skills and obtain the certification. Leverage LinkedIn to connect with people already doing what you want, especially those working in your dream company.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Either in Senior position and/or have my own boutique consulting company.
